Ryan M. McFarlin

Born in Houston, Ryan McFarlin has lived in big and small communities alike, such as Humble, Kingwood, Cleburne, Waco, Waxahachie, Georgetown, and even the East Texas oil town of Van. Having moved around a lot as a child and young adult, Ryan enjoys meeting new people and hearing their stories.

Setting his sights on medical school since the age of ten, Ryan graduated in the top 3% of his class at Waxahachie High School. He then attended Southwestern University at Georgetown where he studied Biology and Chemistry and minored in Political Science. Feeling the pull to go in an unlikely direction, Ryan decided to go to law school so that he could not just help people, but be their voice and their advocate too. Attending Baylor Law School was a logical choice as his uncle and his mother before him are also Baylor Law alumni.

During law school, Ryan had the honor of clerking for the Honorable Mary Murphy, Judge of the 14th District Court in Dallas County. Following his clerkship with Judge Murphy, now a Justice on the 5th Court of Appeals, Ryan clerked for the Honorable Marilea Lewis of the 330th District Court in Dallas County. It was in these two courtrooms where Ryan decided he wanted to spend the rest of his career -- helping those that needed help in a court of law.

Following law school, Ryan accepted a position at the United States Small Business Administration -- Office of Disaster Assistance as a case manager for the victims of Hurricanes Katrina, Wilma, and Rita. Here, Ryan assisted disaster victims with the loan closing process so that they could rebuild their homes and their lives. While at the SBA, he addressed legal questions involving loan eligibility, permissible liens and encumbrances, and mortgage/deed of trust vesting.

Ryan then followed his dream of becoming a litigator at a small personal injury firm in Dallas. While at that firm, Ryan gained extensive trial and courtroom experience, managed a litigation portfolio of 45 to 100 cases at any given time, and became the assistant case manager for the firm's multi-district litigation drug and products liability cases: Vioxx, Medtronic, and Guidant.

Deciding that he wanted to focus on his goal of providing honest and prudent legal advice, Ryan started The McFarlin Firm in September 2008.

In the little free time he has, Ryan enjoys water skiing, snow skiing, attending automotive events, driving, cooking, and spending time with his dear friends and family and his rebellious Siberian Husky, Isabella.

Elizabeth Ramirez

Elizabeth was born in Guanajuato, Mexico but was raised in Dallas, Texas since the age of four. Growing up, Elizabeth wanted to be a hairstylist. However, when she reached high school, she changed her focus to fashion design. Though she also found out that fashion was not her calling, she excelled in her classes at the School of Business and Management at Townview Magnet Center. To this day, Elizabeth maintains an interest and drive to be successful in business. She attended El Centro College and received her associate's degree in Business Administration. Elizabeth is presently enrolled at The University of North Texas at Dallas, where she is a candidate for a bachelor's degree in Business.

Elizabeth joined The McFarlin Firm in December 2010. She will tell you that she truly enjoys her assistant role since she loves to help people. Apart from school and work, Elizabeth enjoys reading, cooking, shopping, and going to the movies. Elizabeth has two younger sisters and a brother with whom she love to spend time, as well as with other family and friends.
